Our client, a financial Law Firm in the Channel Islands, is currently recruiting an Associate/Senior Associate to join its growing International Trusts and Private Client Team (ITPC) based in Guernsey. Within this role, you will work closely with colleagues in dispute resolution, on trust matters, and will also work alongside the Corporate Team, on private funds and corporate structures for private clients.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and commenting on documentation from third parties with a thorough understanding of applicable legal principles, laws, and regulations.
  • Gathering clear instructions from clients, analysing legal issues, offering expert legal advice, and preparing relevant documentation or advice for Partner review, as needed.
  • Completing administrative tasks for each matter in line with required internal procedures (e.g., conflict searches, issuing terms and conditions and engagement letters, due diligence, matter opening, time recording, billing, etc.).
  • Managing personal workload effectively while supporting junior fee earners, regularly reviewing their progress, and escalating any issues to the relevant Partner.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should hold a Solicitor or Barrister qualification, preferably obtained within a common law jurisdiction, and possess a minimum of 3 years’ PQE. A strong background in non-contentious trust and financial services is preferred. A STEP qualification is desirable, though not essential, provided the candidate is willing to study towards it.
