This award-winning law firm is seeking a Senior Lawyer to join its market-leading Financial Services Disputes and Investigations (FSDI) Team in Glasgow. The team is one of the largest in the UK and handles a wide range of legal finance matters, including complex banking litigation, professional negligence claims, investment banking litigation, fraud, regulatory affairs, receivership instructions, and trade finance.

The ideal candidate will either be qualified in England & Wales or be dual qualified in Scotland, with a preference for the latter, however this is not essential.

The primary focus of the role is to be the main point of contact for strategic clients and to provide professional business advice. Key responsibilities include:

• Handling a caseload for major financial services clients, such as clearing banks, private banks, building societies, and specialized lenders. Serving as a senior member of the FSDI team and collaborating with management to expand both the team and practice areas.
• Offering proficient strategic and commercial legal guidance across various disputes, particularly those of significant value and sensitivity, often requiring quick response.
• Delivering top-notch service, fostering client relationships, and contributing to sustained business growth.
• Overseeing and guiding a team of solicitors and legal assistants to ensure they meet their performance objectives.
• Developing and encouraging others through support, coaching, guidance, and constructive critique.

Candidates who are newly qualified or have up to 10 years’ PQE, with previous experience in a defendant litigation role and a desire to advance their career in this field, will be considered. While experience in financial litigation is preferred, the team also welcomes applications from those with backgrounds in insurance litigation, commercial litigation, or property litigation. Supervisory/management experience is essential.
